“Every citizen is the main stakeholder of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra”: LG Sinha

Srinagar, June 28: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today held a meeting with civil society organizations, religious leaders, elected representatives, business and business community members and discussed the arrangement of the upcoming Shri Amarnath ji.

Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah; Chief Secretary, Mr. Atal Dullu; Special Director General (Coordination), PHQ, Mr. SJM Gilni; Lieutenant Governor and Principal Secretary to CEO, Mr. Amarnathji Shrine Board, Dr. Of Mandeep. Bhandari; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shri Vijay Bidhuri; Administrative Secretary, Police and Civil Administration officials attended the meeting.

The Lieutenant Governor welcomed suggestions from various sections of the society and demanded their active participation and cooperation in the smooth operation of the holy pilgrimage.
“Shri Amarnathji Yatra stands as a powerful symbol of the magnificent past of Jammu and Kashmir and its promising future. It is actually a Jean of a people.

The Lieutenant Governor said that I appeal to the members of the civil society, who are selected by public representatives, religious, business and business organizations to make this pilgrimage a living celebration of spirituality, unity, love and communal harmony.

He said that the peaceful behavior of this holy journey will send a strong message that the people of Jammu and Kashmir get united.

“Spiritual leaders, members of civil society, public representative, business and trade fraternity are members of the Jammu and Kashmir family and are taking this thousands of year old spiritual traditions forward with full devotion. This year too, it is also your responsibility to maintain social harmony and social unity and ensure peaceful and successful operations of the holy pilgrimage,” said the Latent Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the major initiatives by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Security Forces and other stakeholders to increase pilgrim-centered facilities and make the journey more secure and safe for pilgrims. He urged pilgrims to travel in the convoy nominated.

“I have assessed an on-ground assessment of facilities on travel tracks that were recently developed for the convenience of pilgrims. The number of registrations of pilgrims is continuously increasing and I am confident that a large number of devotees have visited the holy cave to pay their orders to Baba Barfani,” said the latent governor.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir and its people have always rejected the difference between sects and religions, constantly expanding respect and acceptance to every belief and unique forms of worship.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “With this spirit, we welcome millions of devotees visiting the Shri Amarnathji Yatra and through our collective efforts, ensure a successful, peaceful and trouble -free pilgrimage for all devotees.”

Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board; DDC Chairperson, Members of the Legislative Assembly, members of Civil Society, representatives of various organizations, religious heads, community leaders, members of the business and business fraternity shared their valuable suggestions and promised their support for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

Addressing the approximate demands and issues during the conversation, the Lieutenant Governor assured that appropriate steps would be taken to fulfill the aspirations of all stakeholders.
