Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Brigadier General Effi Defereen on Friday outlined the limit of damage on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs during recent military operations, stating that Israeli has “no choice” but to complete the strike, Jerusalem Post reported.
Defreen said that Israel had earlier attempted to stop Iran’s nuclear and missile development “behind the curtain.” However, it was suggested with intelligence information that Iran had collected enough nuclear material to collect several bombs and was increasing the missile production to expand its arsenal from 2,500 to 8,000 missiles within two years, with Israel opposed to work.
According to Jerusalem Post, the opening surprise strike targeted dozens of senior military officers, 11 nuclear scientists and several development sites. Along with this, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) hit air defense systems including radar eraes, launch facilities and production centers, resulting in Israel to achieve air superiority over western Iran within hours.
Deffreen said that the surprising nature of the aggressive prevented a big Iranian counter. The 12-day campaign was mainly focused on ending Iran’s nuclear enrichment and missile development infrastructure. He highlighted that the US attack on the Fordo facility and the Israeli attacks on Natanz prevented Iran from obtaining “nuclear weapons” at this time.
The Jerusalem Post further stated that IAF targeted thousands of centrifuge production sites and other important facilities necessary for the atomic bomb assembly. Deffreen said that the abolition of 11 nuclear scientists had delayed Iran’s nuclear ambitions significantly.
The second major focus of the strike was Iran’s missile infrastructure. The IDF allegedly hit over 30 missile production and launch features across the country, including factories that make the navigation system important for long -range missiles. Deffreen said the murder of more than 30 senior Iranian military commanders helped prevent more severe vengeance.
Jerusalem Post stated that during operation, Iran’s over 50% of launchers and hundreds of ballistic missiles were destroyed, along with over 80% of aerial defense systems. Iran launched more than 530 missiles and 1,100 drones in Israel, out of which 99% of drones were intercepted.
Defreen warned and concluded that despite the success of the operation, it is called the “danger of existence”, the Iranian rule remained with the intention of destroying Israel. (AI)
