Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Friday that he never claimed that the Lieutenant Governor had all the powers.
Talking to reporters, the Chief Minister said, “I have never said that LG has all the powers. LT’s governor himself has said that their responsibilities are limited to security and law and order. That is why I am saying that I am saying that the professional rules accepted by the cabinet should be signed by LG and should be returned to eliminate the confusion on power distribution.”
“We are saying that the LT Governor has only one responsibility that I have IE, Rest our responsibility to secure the people of J&K,” he said.
On 14 June, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made a clear difference about his administrative powers, stating that only the police department comes under their direct control, while the elected government will be in other important areas such as roads, water, power and agriculture.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister said that people trapped in Iran were being slowly taken out. He said, “We cannot remove them in one night. No port or airport is currently open in Iran. We are transferring stuck people to safe places and then taking them back home,” he said that most 400 students from Jammu and Kashmir are still returning home even today.
He said that there was no reason to bomb Iran at a time when the American Intelligence Head recently claimed that Iran is nowhere to create a atom, but Israel has attacked Iran, which needs to be stopped and all issues should be resolved through dialogue- (KNO)
