Filmmaker Omar Nisar aims to revive the cinema industry of Kashmir with the short film ‘Tasarufdar: Kashmir of Kashmir’

Assistant director Omar Nisar shared his intentions to revive the film industry in Kashmir after a terrorist attack in a major tourist destination, through his short film ‘Tasarufdar: Guins of Kashmir’.

Talking to Annie, Umar Nisar asked his upcoming short film, ‘Tasarufdar,’ A “Prayas” to revive local cinema in Kashmir. He also highlighted Kashmiri filmmakers to “Step Forward” and the need to manufacture content for the bounce of the film industry in Kashmir.

“Whenever we talk about the industry, the most important thing is that we want to bring all the manufacturers here-they all have to make some meaningful contribution … so we come with the concept of Tasarufdar: Kashmir’s Gins, a short film. Overall, this effort is to revive cinema here, and we start anything here?

Tourism in the region allegedly took a dip after the terrorist attack. However, the Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the Jammu and Kashmir administration will be able to achieve the east-tougler status of tourism by December.

Shekhawat told ANI on Thursday, “Wapus Ekche Dean Lootenge … The way tourism has been recovered in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 1.5 months, we will be able to achieve the status of East-Pahalgam by December.”

In May 2025, after a terrorist attack on civilians in Pahgam, India launched Operation Sindoor, carrying out accurate subscribers against nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s firm policy on cross-border terrorism and its attitude towards Pakistan. He underlined that national security is non-pervantic and underlines clear red lines about dialogue, preventive and defense.

He said that any terrorist attack on India would be fulfilled with a fitting and decisive response, even if criminals work and will not stop India from nuclear threats and will continue to make accurate strikes against terrorist bases. (AI)
