Pahalgam, June 20, KDC: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Water Power Department, Shalen Kabra made a comprehensive tour of Pahalgam today to review the overall arrangement for the upcoming Sanji 2025 (annual Amarnath Yatra).
During its visit, ACS inspected prominent places including Nanwan Base Camp and Chandanwari, and issued necessary directions to all line departments to complete all the tasks for the convenience of pilgrims.
Kabra emphasized the importance of uninterrupted coordination among the departments to provide necessary facilities including cleanliness, drinking water, healthcare and security for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. He instructed the officials to speed up pending works and maintain high standards of hygiene and infrastructure readiness.
In addition to reviewing the preparations for Sanji 2025, ACS inspected several ongoing water supply schemes under the Water Life Mission (JJM) in Anantnag district. Major projects were reviewed: Water Supply Scheme Cyligam Tantory Pora and Water Supply Scheme Anantnag (Rural Part).
Kabra directed the Executive Engineer of PHE Division Bijbehara to ensure these schemes to be completed on time to provide clean drinking water to the beneficiaries as soon as possible. He emphasized the need for efficient execution and quality control to fulfill the objectives of the Water Life Mission, which aims to provide every house water (water to every house).
During the inspection, the ACS was accompanied by senior officials of the Water Power Department, PHE and District Administration. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the works and urged the authorities to maintain momentum to be completed on time. (KDC)
