The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim, today emphasized the important role of public participation in preparing effective and result-oriented development plan.
While presiding over a day-long public conversation program at Bugaro Khanshib in Charor-e-Sharis constituency, the speaker underlined the importance of attaching citizens to governance. “Public participation is essential for effective and tangible planning construction. People should actively participate in the government initiative, while the authorities must ensure that the public is involved in the plan and implementation processes meaningful,” the speaker maintained.
Considering the government’s commitment to overall development, the Speaker assured that the actual public demands would be given priority and addressed through a strong developmental plan.
During this incident, local delegations from Bugaro, Kremeshore, Dragam, Lanur, Nambalhar, Arampora, Khasipora and nearby areas highlighted issues related to infrastructure, public services and basic facilities.
The speaker directed the officials and departmental heads concerned to ensure quick service distribution and strengthen the current grievance redressal mechanism. He emphasized the need for responsible and focused governance at the responsible and ground level.
He said, “The government is working hard to take the administration at the door of the general public. In this regard, continuous efforts are being made in collaboration with the district administration,” he said.
The speaker said that decentralization will not only ensure active participation and coordination of the public, but also ensure the spontaneous implementation of developmental projects and major programs in all fields. He said that an initiative where the government reaches people at its door to address its real issues, till anyone is left, it will continue.
SDM Khansheb, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer and other district officials participated in the outreach program, among the DDC members of Charar-e-Sharif and Khanshab.
