Dr. Shahid Iqbal takes over as Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Department of Science and Technology

Srinagar, June 18: Dr. Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary has officially taken over as Secretaries of the Department of Science and Technology, Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on social media platform Facebook, he shared his vision to convert the department into the center of innovation, stability and community-operated progress.

Accepting that the department cannot make headlines often, Dr. Shahid emphasized his unused ability to shape the future of J&K. He determined major focus areas including development of mini hydro and solar power projects, establishment of model solar villages, promoting innovation at the ground level and strengthening research and R&D linkage.

He also highlighted the need for a strong partnership with science-led climate flexibility, technology-competent governance and academics, industry and local communities.

Dr. Shahid vowed to work with “quiet determination and bold vision” to create science and technology in Jammu and Kashmir. (KDC)
