Srinagar, June 18, KDC: Commissioner Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA), Saurabh Bhagat, reviewed the overall work of the department in a meeting held here today.
Director FCS and CA Kashmir, Dr. Apart from Owais Ahmed, senior officials of the department participated in the meeting along with district officials.
Director FCS & CA, Kashmir apprised the Commissioner Secretary of the stock and supply status of foodgrains and petroleum products in the division. It was also reported that the distribution of more than 70% of foods for the current month has been completed, while lifting for the month of July is also going on later.
The director apprised the Commissioner Secretary of various projects, ongoing schemes and department schemes such as smart-pd and root optimization plan as well as the present status of the same.
The Commissioner Secretary motivated all officers to serve consumers. He asked them to ensure that all the scheduled tasks be completed within the stipulated time frame. They were informed that timely execution and quality disposal of complaints were being ensured at all levels.
The Commissioner Secretary expressed confidence that Dr. Under the leadership of Ovis Ahmed and under the efforts of all officers and officials, the department can achieve several major objectives related to food safety and public distribution. These included ensuring food security for the population, especially weak groups, efficient procurement and distribution of food grains, maintaining stable food prices and strengthening the public distribution system (PDS).
