“India, Canada should strengthen democracy, humanity together

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney on the banks of the G7 Summit in Kananskis, Canada.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the depth and importance of India-Canada relations, citing mutual investment and shared democratic values ​​in the form of major pillars of partnership.

“India and Canada relations are very important in many ways. Many Canadian companies have invested in India. Canadians of India have a huge investment on earth. Dedicated to democratic values, Canada and India have to strengthen democracy together, strengthen humanity,” Prime Minister Modi said.

He also congratulated Carney on his recent election victory, expressing optimism about future cooperation.

He said, “This is the first time I have the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister after his election, so I congratulate him for his grand victory in this election and in the coming era, India and Canada will progress together in many areas with him,” he said.

Responding to PM Modi’s comments, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed him warmly and highlighted India’s growing global role and leadership in major areas of mutual concern.

“This is a great respect for hosting you on G7 … It is a will for the importance of your country, for your leadership and the importance of issues we are together, by energy security, by energy infection, which you are helping to lead you, you do for the future of artificial intelligence, which we are against other factors.”

PM Modi’s visit to Canada in Canada comes after a period of friction between New Delhi and Ottawa, which begins with Canadian allegations that the Indian agent was involved in the murder of NIA -nominated terrorist Hardip Singh Nijar, nominated by the NIA outside a gurdwara in Canada in 2023.

India strongly rejected the allegations. Diplomatic deadlock increased as the two countries expelled senior diplomats in a title-for-tat reaction. Earlier in the day, PM Modi arrived at the Pomeroy Kananskis Mountain Lodge in Canada to attend a high-level meeting.

Canadian PM Mark Carney attained PM Modi as he reached the venue of the G7 Summit in Kananskis, Alberta.

It marks his sixth consecutive part at the G7 summit and the first visit to Canada in a decade. PM Modi gave a formal reception at the Calgary Airport, where the acting High Commissioner of India, Chinmoy Naik, were among those who received him.

On arriving at Calgary, Canada, on Monday (local time), PM Modi said that he would meet various leaders at the G7 Summit and share his views on important global issues.

PM Modi said that he will also insist on the priorities of the global South. The visit is part of PM Modi’s three-nation official visit, which began with Cyprus and will end with Croatia.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Calgary, landed in Canada, to attend the G7 Summit. Will meet various leaders at the summit and share my views on important global issues. The priorities of the global South will also be emphasized.”

Foreign Ministry official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that PM Modi will participate in the G7 discussion on the future of energy security including diversification, technology, infrastructure and investment to ensure access to a changing world.

“On the invitation of PM @Markjcarney, PM @narendramodi Alberta comes to the G7 summit in Canada. PM will participate in the discussions @G7 on the future of energy security, including diversification, technology, infrastructure and investment, to ensure access to a changing world.

Prime Minister reached Canada after concluding Cyprus’s visit. Canadian PM Modi’s visit is an important moment in bilateral relations after a phase of stressful diplomatic relations.

The G7 Summit is an annual meeting of leaders of the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada and European Union (EU). This marks PM Modi’s sixth consecutive partnership at the G7 Summit. (AI)
