SSP Shopian Anit Ali Chaudhary-IPS presided over a crime and security review meeting at the conference hall, DPO Shopian. The meeting was attended by ASP Shopian, Disp Hikars Shopian, SDPO Zainpora, SDPO Imamshib, Disp Dar Shopian, SRPO DPO, and all Shos/IC PPS in the district.
The meeting is mainly focused on the implementation of newly introduced criminal laws, in the context of pendency and disposal, reviewing the status of cases under the challenges, organized offenses and NDPS Act, UAPA and Poxo. A comprehensive evaluation of the security scenario of the district was also organized.
SSP Shopian emphasized the importance of efficient law enforcement, following appropriate investigation procedures and timely disposal of cases in line with new legal provisions.
He directed the authorities to adopt an active approach in dealing with drug related crimes under the NDPS Act and to take strict action against persons involved in illegal activities under UAPA.
SHOS and Supervisory Officers were further directed to enhance search techniques using modern methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Other major points of discussion included intelligence gathering, strengthening anti-drug operations and improving inter-agency coordination to maintain a strong safety structure.
The authorities were directed to effectively combat any possible threats to peace and stability in the region, especially to remain highly cautious in sensitive areas.
