Srinagar, June 17: Jal Shakti Minister, Javed Ahmed Rana, in a meeting of officials today, made a comprehensive review of the functioning of water supply schemes in the Pir Panjal area, in which he presided over here at the Civil Secretariat.
The meeting, in which Director Finance, Director Plan, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti participated, aimed at assessing the current situation of the water supply infrastructure and identifying areas for improvement.
During the review, the minister stressed the importance of the scheme carefully for the coming year to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the residents of the area.
He instructed the concerned departments to prepare a detailed plan, keeping in mind the specific requirements and challenges of the area.
The minister also emphasized the need for regular water quality tests to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to the public.
He directed the officials of the Water Life Mission (JJM) to prioritize water quality monitoring and take corrective measures wherever necessary.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of the ongoing projects of the water supply scheme in the area.
Rana expressed concern over the delay and directed the concerned authorities to rapidly track these projects, ensuring high quality workmanship.
The minister also reviewed the implementation of the Water Life Mission in the Pir Panjal area. He emphasized the importance of community participation and participation in ensuring stability of water supply plans.
The minister confirmed the J&K government’s commitment under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, which to provide safe and reliable drinking water to the residents of J&K including PIR Panjal area.
He assured that his department would make tireless efforts to resolve the water supply challenges of the area and to ensure the good of his residents.
