Amarnath Yatra Marg declared no flying zone from July 01

In a step to ensure a foolish security system for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has declared the entire pilgrimage route as ‘no flying zone’.

According to the news agency -Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Central Region Home Department has declared all the routes of Amarnath Yatra as ‘No Flying Zone’, which includes both Pahalgam Axis and Baltal Axis.

This restriction is applied to all types of air devices – including UAVs, drones and balloons – both Pahalgam and Baltal routes cover the routes.

Security instructions will be applicable from 01 July to 10 August. This decision came after the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, advised to do so.

These restrictions will not apply to cases of medical clearance, disaster management or monitoring operations conducted by security forces.

A detailed standard operating process (SOP will be released later for such exceptions.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan is presiding over a high-level security meeting here today to review the security system for the Yatra.

The annual Amarnath Yatra will begin on 03 July and will conclude on 09 August.

In view of the initiative attack, additional security measures are being taken for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the journey.
