Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday announced the reopening of eight tourist places in Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters here in South Kashmir, LG Sinha, according to the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, “Tourist places were closed on April 22 after a terrorist attack as a precautionary measure. After assessing the situation, it has been decided that closed sites will be reopened for tourists at the feet.”
LG Sinha said that to start with it, it has been decided that Betab Valley, Verinag, Cokeranag and Achbal Garden, Park in Pahgam Bazaar, will be open to the public in Anantnag district.
Whereas in Srinagar, Takdar Park near Badamwari, Duck Park and Hazratbal will be reopened.
LG Sinha hoped that the upcoming Amarnath Yatra would help revive tourism in Kashmir. “I urge people to come forward and make the annual pilgrimage successful,” he said.
“This is your journey. This will help improve your economy and revive tourism.” – (KNO)
