AXIOM-4 Mission postponed due to technical issue: Union Minister Jitendra Singh

Web Desk, 11/06/2025

Union Minister of Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh said on Wednesday that Indian astronaut Shukla has been postponed due to a technical issue, the launch of AXIOM-4 to the International Space Station (ISS).

According to Singh, a liquid oxygen (LOX) leak was detected during a hot test of Falcon 9 booster’s 7-second, indicating a joint review by ISRO, Axiom and Spacex teams.

In a post on X, Singh said, “Mission update | AXIOM-04, Launch of Axiom Mission 4, to move India’s astronaut Shukla to ISS, has been postponed. A liquid oxygen (LOX) leak was detected during the 7-second hot test of Falcon 9 of Falcon 9.

Singh emphasized the importance of security, accuracy and commitment for excellence in the mission and said that further updates on the mission would be shared accordingly.

Earlier, Union Minister Jitendra Singh had talked about special missions that the captain of the Indian astronaut group Shubhanshu Shukla would perform during his Axiom4 space mission.

He also mentioned that the world recognizes India’s growth and capabilities and said that it is possible due to recent changes in the space sector.

In a video released by Jeetandra Singh’s office, talking about the Gaganan Mission, he said, “Gaganian is a very ambitious mission as ISRO is concerned. The whole world is watching it closely.”

He said, “Gaganian will also include docking and ignores, which will be in it. Once they go up, it will take about 28 hours, then after 28 hours, it will reach about 400 kilometers from the Earth’s surface, which is about 250 miles in American physiology, and can also be a one -from. Speaking about the role performed by the group’s captain Shubhanshu Shukla, he said, “This time, Shubanshu Shukla is going to play a very important role. He is playing the most important role, as he will showcase experiments that are going to make an impact on future space missions, people of all over India, and other agencies too. Government, which is an insistence on all the astronauts, which is an insistence on the government.

He said, “These are very future experiments that are especially assigned to Shubanshu. Therefore, it is a big success. It is a moment that will proud our founding father- Vikram Sarabhai, Satish Dhawan, India today has reached the pedestal where we do not see as a junior partner. Of the possible space reforms, the government’s political players are inaugurated and this is the government’s political interaction for the government. Could not have

Union Minister Jitendra Singh thanked PM Modi for his leadership. “I have to thank PM Modi, because he has CPACITY to make out-off-box decisions, for breaking the past taboos because for six, seven decades we have become air-conditioned to live with the belief that space has to work behind the veil of privacy and not to be opened in the private sector.

He explained in detail, “We are now equal partners. It was decided to be an astronaut from India and this proposal was made to India when PM Modi was on a visit to Washington DC when President Biden was in place. So you can see that there is also a reflection of the recognition of Indian capabilities, which is already a departure, there is already a departure, when there is a departure in India.”
