Srinagar, June 10: PDP leader Wahid Para said on Tuesday that the Umar Abdullah government should make public the report of the Cabinet sub-committee on reservation in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that there were questions with the intention of the government.
“Students are asking for answers, not delay. Why catch the Cabinet Committee report back on merit? After your government’s adverse stand on merit in court, there are no intentions, not under action.
Para posted on X, “After six years of a six -year -old government, at least people deserve transparency. Make the report public.”
PDP leader JK Minister Sakina was reacting to the post of Eto, in which he said that the Cabinet Sub-Committee has completed its report and when the Council of Ministers meets the next, she will present it.
“Jammu and Kashmir is a struggle-affected region that is a burden with decades of trauma, depression and highest unemployment rate in India. Its sixty-five percent of the population is young, who are struggling between despair and better future dreams.
“With immense strategic significance as a border state, our youth are not just an opportunity, but also a challenge, if it is ignored,” Para said.
He said that between delicate peace, terrorist threats and cross -border clashes, the youth of Kashmir have chosen the path of competition on merit.
“They want to become doctors, engineers, civil servants, and a better tomorrow builder, which is probably the best thing that can be for any nation.
Para claimed, “Nevertheless, the biggest obstacle to their dreams is not violence, but systematically strengthens the merit. The only area in the country where the youth are punished for meritorious, he is a tragic JK,” Para claimed.
The Pulwama MLA also said that reservation was important for the upliftment of Dowtroden, but it could not come at the cost of merit, under any circumstances.
Para said, “This is why we are demanding rationalization supporters of reservation.”
He said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah “would not have not made a monster of this flawed reservation policy, but this was promised by your party, your MLAs and your MPs to improve it”, he said.
“With a full mandate of 50 seats in an area where 70 percent depend on qualifications, what are you waiting for? Which business rules, which state, which sub-committee is stopping you? It is shame that a party whose founder stood for autonomy, could not stand for merit even today,” Para said.
The PDP leader also said that if the leaders cannot unite for the principle of youth and fairness, “What future are we talking about? Let me lead the merit”.
