A man has died after falling from the cube, in a landmark building Birmingham,
The West Midlands Police was called to the scene at the Wharfside Street Building at 6.30 pm on Saturday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that death is not considered suspicious.
In a statement, the force said: “The man’s family is aware and is being supported by the authorities. The death of the man is not considered suspicious.”
Cube, £ 100 million development in 2010 completed, over 240 flats, a hotel and several restaurants. It is located in Central birminghamOn a short walk from New Street Station and Bull Ring Shopping Center.
A statement released on Saturday on the Facebook page of the building said: “Today, a serious incident occurred in Cube Birmingham.
“Emergency services participated in the scene and continued the entire investigation.
“Access to the building is now partially restored. Residents are allowed to return to their homes; however, all commercial locations within the cube are temporarily stayed as precaution and out of respect while interrogation continues.
“We are working perfectly with the authorities and will continue to follow their guidance.
“We understand that it can be upset, and our thoughts are with all those affected by today’s events.
“At this stage, we will not provide further comments, and we please ask for privacy and understanding because the investigation proceeds.”
