The police secure success in the POCSO case; DNA identifies evidence criminal

Srinagar, June 5: The Baramulla police have achieved a significant success in investigating the sexual harassment case associated with a mentally challenged minor girl, resulting in identity and arrest of three accused persons through constant forensic and investigative efforts.

A police spokesperson said in a statement by Kashmir.com, “On receiving information in January 2025, Kunezer Police Station registered FIR number 04/2025 under the relevant sections of POCSO Act and BNS after the 16 -year -old girl was pregnant during a medical examination in SDH Magam.

“Investigations led by the then show Kunj Inspector Sheikh Adil revealed that the minors were repeatedly attacked by several criminals. Due to preliminary inquiries, Mohammad Rafiq Bhat (resident of Dhobiwan), Mohammad Nasrullah Khan (Hayama Lolb, resident of Kupwa) was arrested both.”

“Through frequent efforts, investigators focused on Javad Alam (resident of Champaran) as a prominent suspect. Forensic Milan confirmed that his DNA matched the fetus, established him as a biological father and confirmed his role in sexual harassment for pregnancy. The investigation confirmed his investigation independently.”

Despite the early forensic complications, our team employed a methodical investigation and advanced technology to identify all criminals.
