J&K ACB arrested Deputy Forester and Forest Guard and arrested for demanding bribe of 11,000

The Bureau of Corruption on Thursday implicated and arrested the deputy forester and forest guard to demand and accept a bribe of 11,000 in Jammu and Kashmir.

A spokesperson said that an anti -corruption bureau received a complaint alleging that Surinder Kumar, posted as Bo (Deputy Forester) in the range office, was posted as Kalidhar, Block Outpost Chaura (now under transfer) and Kewal Krishna, then as forest guard with the said dye. Forester (now posted in Forest Check Post Bridge, Akhnoor), demanded illegal satisfaction for the release of additional CDR.

The accused persons had demanded a bribe of 14,000 from the complainant for the release of additional CDR, which was deposited during the execution of the work by the complainant, whose name was “Compartment No. 12/K, Nada Chargeal One, Kalidhar Forest Range, 126 Border columns in Kalidhar One Range were constructed in the context of 2024-2024 E-NIT number 27. 11,000/- (Rs 3000/- (Rs 3000//- Rs 3000/-/- for Rs 3000/-/- and remaining amount for forest guard).

Since, the complainant did not want to pay the bribery and contacted the anti -corruption bureau to take legal action against the accused public servants under the law.

Upon receiving the complaint, a prudent verification was conducted, which and accordingly, a case FIR No. 11/2025 U/S7 was registered at the Corruption Act, 1988 and Section 61 (2) BNS, 2023, police station ACB Jammu and investigation in 2023.

During the investigation, a trap team was formed. The team laid a successful trap and the accused folk servants were caught with red hand in the presence of independent witnesses and demanding a bribe of 11,000 from the complainant. The accused persons were arrested on the spot by the ACB team after appropriate procedure of law.

In the presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team, bribe money was also recovered from their possession. Apart from this, in the presence of independent witnesses and magistrates, both the accused are also being searched in residential houses.

Further investigation of the case is going on immediately.
