The Department of Agriculture, DODA organized a comprehensive farmer awareness program at Bhalara Bhadrao as part of the Vikasit Krishi Sankalap Abhiyan 2025, where about 200 participants discussed the latest technologies and various agricultural schemes.
Director of Agriculture, Jammu, Arvinder Singh, was the chief guest on the occasion. It was held in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to revive the agricultural sector.
The initiative is to empower farmers with knowledge, technology and resources to promote productivity, ensure permanent practices and increase income.
Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Bhadrawah Aamir Rafki highlighted the government’s long -term vision to make Indian agriculture globally competitive.
The vision of the Prime Minister for a developed India until 2047 cannot be obtained without changing agriculture. This campaign is about creating awareness and running real changes on the ground.
Director Agriculture, Jammu, Arvinder Singh emphasized the importance of peasant-centric policies being implemented by the Government of India.
He said, “Wikit Krishi Sankalap Abhiyan is not just a campaign, but is a mission to ensure the change of Indian agriculture through scientific intervention, smart resource usage, and access to direct benefits.”
He urged the farmers to engage with the departments, adopt permanent practices, and take advantage of many schemes and subsidies provided under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
Arvinder Singh said that “Vikasit Krishi Sankalap Abhiyan 2025 is an opportunity for farmers to interact directly with experts and scientists of the region and upgrade their issues and upgrade their practices.
He encouraged farmers to adopt organic and climate-flexible agriculture, taking full advantage of the government-supported initiative for irrigation, seeds, fertilizers and crop insurance.
During the program, farmers shared important challenges including irregular rainfall, water quality issues, soil health problems, market prices and availability of quality seeds.
Scientists at Krishi Vichan Kendra Doda provided detailed information on natural farming, integrated insect management, new varieties, soil health management, crop diversification, direct preferred rice cultivation, summer female and government schemes.
“We usually listen to government schemes, but do not always understand how to apply for them. Today, the authorities directly helped us that personal guidance makes a big difference,” a farmer, Sashi Kumar said.
Ravi, a farmer from Bhadarwah, said, “This is the first time I have seen such a detailed information about soil health and methods of organic farming.”
“If these methods are widely adopted, we can definitely increase our produce and income,” he said. (AI)
