A part of his frequent efforts to curb the threat of drugs from the LAS society, the police Kulgam started a special drive against the illegal cultivation of the popy with the teams of revenue and excise officers.
Intensive drive against the cultivation of poppy seeds by joint teams destroyed two separate places, Waltango and Nobugh Kund, a vast area of the land in Kulgam, destroying the cultivation spread in a vast area of the land.
Accordingly, cases under the relevant sections of the law have been registered at the Police Station Kund and investigation has been initiated.
The general public of these areas has appreciated the action of J&K police and urged to continue this drive in nearby areas as well. The J&K police appealed to the general public to increase their cooperation in this campaign against misuse of drugs.
