Srinagar, May 27: Delhi Public School, Srinagar, proudly celebrates notable achievements of two of its students, Syed Fatima Andrabi and Jarah Alhak, who have been chosen for the prestigious international scholarships that recognize extraordinary talent, leadership and global citizenship.
Syed Fatima Andrabi of Class XI has earned a place in the highly reputed Kennedy-Lugger Youth Exchange and Study (KL-Yas) program. A rigorous, multi-step national selection process was chosen, it is one of the 28 students in India to get this 100% scholarship.
Fatima will travel to the United States in August 2025, where she will spend a full academic year to live with an American host family and attend the American High School.
As a young ambassador, she will not only represent DPS Srinagar, but also to its city and country, which will work to promote cross-cultural understanding and strengthen the relationship between communities through the power of youth exchange.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Global Stem Changemaker Scholar has been named by AFS Intercultural Programs in Zaaiirah Alhaq, also in class XI.
Among the over 7,000 applicants worldwide, Zaaiirah is only one of the 145 global transformators and one in four from India is awarded this prestigious scholarship.
The AFS Global STEM Academy Program includes a 12-week virtual learning experience in Brazil after four-week, in-tradition, Emarsive Academy. There, Zirah will engage in STEM projects on the hands, focused on innovation and stability, developing the necessary leadership and intercultural skills to address global challenges.
Both Fatima and Zaira simulate a sense of curiosity, leadership and global association, which DPS Srinagar has tried to establish in its students. The school congratulates these excellent young Changemakers and achieves them great success to start these transformative trips abroad.
