Two drug pedals found guilty in NDPS case after legal action by Srinagar police

In a sterling will of the Srinagar Police to combat drug trafficking and eliminate the infrastructure of illegal narcotics, the court of Special Judge (NDPS Affairs), Srinagar, has blamed two drug pedlers after the NDPS Act, Srinagar.

Rafik Ahmed Putu, son of Ali Mohammad Patu, a resident of Ranger Stop, Saikdal and Aqib Manzoor Bakhru Manzur Ahmed Bakhro’s son Bakhari Mohalla, Rainwari, was arrested in connection with FIR number 110/2020 for NDPS under Section 8, 20, 20, and 29.

Both the accused persons were kept in possession of commercial quantity work by a police team of Srinagar police, which they intended to sell among local youth, promoting the threat of drugs in the area.

After a thorough investigation and hardworking prosecution, the Special Judge pronounced the decision of punishment on both accused persons.

Subsequently, the court sentenced both the convicts to five years rigorous imprisonment and fined each ₹ 50,000. In the event of failure to pay the fine, the culprits will have to undergo a simple imprisonment of six months. The sentences are concurrently to run.

This punishment acts as a strong message against drug trafficking and underlines the tireless efforts of the Srinagar Police in protecting the community from the drug crisis.
