The goats of at least 40 sheep and one nomadic helar died in a late night power strike in the forest area of Hariganwan in the Kangan area of Genderbal district.
An official told the news agency -Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the livestock was of Sundarbani, Abdul Wahid Khattan of Rajouri, who is currently putting in Chechi Patti, Hariganwan as part of seasonal migration.
Electric strike took place amidst a brief but acute thunderstorms, catching animals in the open and resulting in immediate death- (KNO)
