Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to visit Srinagar today

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and is likely to meet the soldiers of the armed forces in Srinagar.

This is Rajnath Singh’s first Jammu and Kashmir, who travels after the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.

Meanwhile, life is beginning to normalize in Jammu and Kashmir, after Operation Sindoor and after the end of the hostility agreement between India and Pakistan.

The Directorate of School Education, Jammu on Wednesday announced that schools in some border areas of Jammu and Kashmir would reopen on 15 May.

In relief for students and parents, schools will reopen in many areas of Jammu, Samba, Katua, Rajouri and Ponch districts tomorrow after the closure of enmity between India and Pakistan.

In Jammu, Chowki Chaura, Bhalwal, Dansal, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu Zone will reopen schools. In Samba, Vijaypur will open school tomorrow. In Kathua, Burnoti, Lakhanpur, Sallan and Ghagwal zone will open schools.

Similarly, in Rajouri, the schools will be open in Perry, Kalakote, Thamandi, Mogla, Kotrana, Khawas, lower hand and Daral areas. In Poonch, SURANKOTE and Buffliaz region will open schools.

Meanwhile, helicopter services from Katra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine started again on Wednesday after being suspended for a week due to hostility between India and Pakistan.

In addition, the Indian Army has intensified its operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam attack.

On Tuesday, three militants were killed with affiliation with Lashkar-e-Tabiba in an encounter in Shopian in South Kashmir. Sources told ANI that two of the three Lashkar-e-Taiba (Late) -Filated terrorists have been confirmed.

According to sources, one of the terrorists was identified as Shahid Kuttay, son of Mohammad Yusuf Kuttay and was a resident of Chowkipora Hirpora in Shopian.

He was a category A, Chalo operative who was involved in a firing incident at Danish Resort in Srinagar on 8 April 2024, injuring two German tourists and a driver. He attended the Terror Outfit on 8 March 2023. (ANI)
