Web Desk, 14/05/2025

After the first batch of Haj pilgrims in Srinagar, he left for an annual holy pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the second batch of Haj pilgrims is also set to depart from Srinagar on Wednesday after the end of enmity between India and Pakistan.

According to an executive member of the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee, Shujaat Ahmed Qureshi, a total of 642 pilgrims are going to depart from Srinagar today, and a total of six flights have been arranged for that purpose.

He said that due to the recent tension between India and Pakistan after the April 22 terror attack in Pahgam and after India’s reaction, seven flights were canceled, of which only one has been re -determined.

“Today we are happy that the Haj pilgrimage has resumed … but seven flights were canceled, one of which has been re -determined for May 15 … Those who were going for today were also facing problems, because Airbus could not reach Sarinagar Airport and now they will leave the flights and will fly away from today. We have time and we will arrive there on time, ”Qureshi said.

A pilgrim who was ready to leave for Mecca expressed his relief at the end of enmity and said that he prayed for the situation to be normal.

“We always pray to Allah so that the situation becomes normal … Thank God that the ceasefire occurred and now we are able to travel to the Haj,” he said.

Earlier, the first batch of Haj pilgrims of Srinagar left for at least 3,372 Huzz Karam on 4 May, a title was given to the Haj pilgrims who were departing from that morning.
