Pakistan has disturbed today’s understanding, Indian armed forces giving proper response: Foreign Secretary Egypt

Web Desk, 10/05/2025

India said on Saturday that Pakistan has violated understanding between the DGMOs of the two countries on the first day of firing and military action and the Indian Army is retaliating and is dealing with border infiltration.

In a special briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that it is a violation of earlier understanding and India takes “a very serious note of these violations”.

India called upon Pakistan to address these violations and take appropriate steps to deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility.

Misri said that India’s armed forces have been instructed to forcefully deal with the international border with any example of repetition of border violations along the Line of Control.

“For the last few hours, the directors of the military operations of India and Pakistan have already been repeated the understanding of the earlier understanding. It is a violation of an incoming understanding today. The armed forces are giving sufficient and appropriate response to these violations and we take very serious notes of these violations,” said Missary.

He said, “We ask Pakistan to address these violations and take appropriate steps to deal with the situation with severity and responsibility. The armed forces are maintaining a strong vigilance on the situation. They have been instructed to deal with any example of repetition of violations of the border along with the line of control along the international border.”

Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary Misri told the media that the Director General of Pakistan’s military operations approached his Indian counterpart.

He said, “The Director General of Pakistan’s Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian DGMO this afternoon 15:35 hours ago. They agreed that the two sides would shut down all firing and military action from the Indian standard time 1700 hours of Indian standard time.”

He said, “Today, instructions have been given on both sides to make this understanding effective. Directors of military operations will talk again in 1200 hours on 12 May.”

External Affairs Minister K Jaishankar mentioned a position on X that India will continue its firm and unrelated stand against terrorism.

“India and Pakistan today have made an understanding of an understanding on firing and stagnation of military action. India has continuously maintained a firm and unrelated stance against terrorism in all its forms and expressions. It will continue to do so,” he said.

At a joint press conference on Saturday morning, Misri insisted that the work being done by Pakistan against India is “escalatery” and “stimulating” in nature and is being responded effectively.

India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May in response to a disgusting terrorist attack in Pahgam on 22 April. 26 people were killed in the terrorist attack. India attacked nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan captured Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan demanded the previous a series of unprotected growth using artillery guns and drones. (AI)
