Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan on the border after the Pahgam attack, the Indian Army on Monday responded to unsafe small weapons during the Line of Control (LOC) during the Invateing Night (LOC) on Monday, the official said on Monday.
The Pakistan Army resorted to small arms firing across the LOC along with Kupwara, Baramalla, Ponch, Rajouri, Mehar, Naushera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor areas of Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, the Indian Army immediately and proportionally responded.
Earlier on the night of 3 and 4 May, the Pakistan Army carried out small weapons firing in the districts of Jammu and Kashmir along with the districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Poonch, Rajouri, Naushera, Sundera, Sundera and Akhanur, which was effectively vengerated by the Indian Army.
According to the Indian Army, the soldiers responded in a calibrated and proportional manner.
This is the eleventh consecutive day of India’s effective vengeance as Pakistan’s Army Army’s firing started on the night of 25-26 April.
On 30 April, India shut down its airspace for all aircraft registered in Pakistan and all aircraft run by Pakistani Airlines, according to the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA), 26 people were killed in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April.
India issued a notice to the Airmen (NOTAM), confirming the closure of its airspace, from 30 April to 23 May (approximate period), all Pakistani-managed, operated, or leased aircraft.
On 29 April, the Director General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan spoke on the hotline to discuss the unprotected ceasefire violation by Pakistan, according to defense sources.
Sources said that India warned Pakistan against the violation of the unsafe ceasefire by the Pakistan Army along with the Pakistan Army and the International Border. (AI)
