Three persons sentenced to community service in court awards Sopore

The Hon’ble Court of JMIC Dangiwacha, showing the spirit of corrective justice under the newly introduced Indian Joint Code (BNS), has sentenced three persons for community service to harass public peace while under the influence of alcohol.

The accused Mohammad Abbas Lone, Naseer Ahmed Dar, and Shahnawaz Ahmed Dar, all the residents of Ladura Rafiabad were booked by the police station Dangivac to create a public disturbance under Section 355 BNS. After testing, the court ordered community service as punishment, promoted accountability and gave criminals an opportunity to contribute positively to society.

This punishment aligns with recent reforms in Indian criminal law, where minor offenses can be addressed through non-Custodial, corrective measures, criminals can be encouraged to take responsibility and re-rescue it as responsible citizens.

Local residents have appreciated the fast action of the Sopore Police and welcomed the progressive approach of the court. The police urged all citizens to be informed about the new legal provisions, which aims to strengthen the public order through responsibility, correction and re -reconstruction. ,
