Between tariff war stopped the export of sports cars, other models for China

Arun Jain, 19/04/2025

New York, United States:

Citing the US-China trade struggle, Ford said on Friday that it has “adjusted” its exports to the country, where American auto giants jointly operate manufacturing with local partners.

“We have adjusted exports from the US to China in the light of the current tariff,” Ford told AFP without specifying the affected model.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the US Auto giant stopped the Michigan -made shipment of F -150 raptor, Mustang and Bronco Sport Utility vehicles.

The newspaper said that Lincoln navigator was also affected, which is built in Kentki.

In the last decade, Ford has sold around 240,000 vehicles to China exported from the United States. But in 2024, the volumes fell rapidly to about 5,500.

This step is the latest wave effect from a growing trade war between Beijing and Washington.

Despite pulling back to several other tariffs, President Donald Trump has stuck the firm for American duties on Chinese goods and increased them by 145 percent. In turn, China has increased tariffs on US exports including cars, up to 125 percent.

Overall, Ford sold 442,000 vehicles in China in China in 2024 – in China – in 2024 – in 2024 – in China – in China.

The US company operates several manufacturing joint enterprises in China with Chinese companies in China, producing vehicles under both Ford and Lincoln brands.

Some Ford production in China is exported to other markets. One of these vehicles, Lincoln Nautilus, is now subject to the American tariff, according to the Wall Street Journal.
