US Robert F releases 10,000 pages of records on Kennedy’s murder

Arun Jain, 19/04/2025

Washington:

About 10,000 pages related to the 1968 murder of Sen Robert F. Kennedy were released on Friday, which also included handwritten notes by the gunman who said that the Democratic Presidential candidate should be “disposed of” and accepted a passion to kill him.

Many files were earlier made public, while others were not digital and sat in the federal government’s storage facilities for decades. His release continued the disclosure of historic investigation documents ordered by President Donald Trump.

Kennedy was broadly shot on June 5, 1968 after celebrating a speech in California’s President’s primary at the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel. His killer, Sarahan Sarahan, was convicted of the first-degree murder and is serving life in jail.

Files included photos of handwritten notes by Sarahan.

Kennedy’s elder brother, President John F. Referring to Kennedy, “RFK should be settled like his brother,” read the writing outside an empty envelope, killing in 1963. The return was detected by the District Director of the Internal Revenue Service at Los Angeles.

The National Archives and Records Administration posted 229 files, in which the pages are on their public website.

The release was revealed a month after the unexpected files related to President Kennedy’s murder. Those documents informed the curious readers more about the secret American operations of the Cold War-era in other countries, but initially did not give credibility to the principles of circulating conspiracy for a long time about those who kill JFK.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior, son of Robert Kennedy, appreciated the release.

The Health Secretary said in a statement, “Raising veil on RFK paper is an essential step towards restoring confidence in the US government.”

Documents include interviews with the killers

The files around Robert Kennedy also included interview notes with those who knew Sarahan from a variety of references, such as classmates, neighbors and colleagues. While some described him as “a friendly, kind and generous person”, others portrayed a braiding and “impressive” young man, who firmly felt about his political beliefs and briefly believed in mysticism.

According to the files, Sarahan told his garbage collector that he planned to kill Kennedy shortly after the murder of Rev Martin Luther King Junior on 4 April 1968. A black person, cleanliness worker said that he planned to vote for Kennedy as he would help black people.

“Okay, I don’t agree. I am planning to shoot a bitch’s son,” Sirhan replied, the man told the investigators.

Larry Sabato, Director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, and author of “The Kennedy Half-Sinnary”, said there are always conspiracies around Robert Kennedy’s murder. He believes that the rollout of documents on Friday will be similar to the JFK documents released earlier this year.

He warned that a review needs to be cautious and slowly, “Just in the case there is an indication or there is an anecdote” that can highlight the murder.

“I hope more information is,” said Sabato. “I suspect that there is, as I said when JFK documents were issued.”

Some reductions remained in documents posted online on Friday, including dates of birth and birth. Last month, Trump Administration President John F. During the release of records around Kennedy’s murder, he came under criticism on unexpected personal information on personal information, including social security numbers.

Trump, a Republican, has made the champion in the name of transparency on high-profile killings and investigation related documents. But they also have deep doubts for the years of government intelligence agencies. Their administration opens the door for the release of hidden files and the door for more public examination of the findings of institutions such as CIA and FBI.

Trump in January Robert F. An executive order was signed for the release of government documents related to Kennedy and King’s killings, which were killed within two months of each other.

Kennedy’s killer lawyers have said for decades that they are unlikely to be threatened or threatened for society, and in 2021, a parole board considered Sarahan suitable for release. But Gowin Gavin Newsom rejected the verdict in 2022, kept in the state jail. In 2023, a separate panel refused to release her, stating that she still lacks insight to what happened to shoot Kennedy.

RFK still stands as a hero for American liberals

Kennedy remains an icon for liberals, who sees him as a champion for human rights who was committed to fighting poverty and racial and economic injustice. They often consider their murder as the final in a series of major tragedies that place the US and its politics on a deep, more conservative path.

He was sometimes a divisive person during his lifetime. Some critics thought he came late to oppose the Vietnam war, and started his campaign for the President in 1968, when Democratic Primary at New Hampshire highlighted President Johnson’s political weakness.

Kennedy’s elder brother appointed him an American Attorney General, and he was a close associate with him until JFK’s assassination in Dallas. In 1964, he won an American Senate seat from New York and was seen as the successor of the family’s political legacy.
