Myanmar:
In a statement by the National Center for Sisamology (NCS), Myanmar shocked Myanmar on Monday.
According to the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km, making it susceptible to the afterchox.
In a post on X, NCS said, “M: 4.5, on: 14/04/2025 01:32:31 IST, Late: 19.78 N, Long: 95.49 AD, Depth: 10 km, Location: Myanmar.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, in response to a formal request from the Myanmar government, an expert team of Indian Army engineers reached the country on 6 April 2025 under Operation Brahma, further confirmed India’s ongoing commitment to regional support and human relief.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Myanmar said, “After assessing several earthquake affected places in Naypita and Mandle, India’s security and demolition specialist engineers today assisted the concerned Myanmar officials in assessing the old Ava railway bridge over the Iva railway bridge over the Ivadi River in Mandalay.”
According to the Indian Army, the engineer was deployed to assess the influential infrastructure under the leadership of the commanding officer of the unit under the commanding officer of the unit and an officer and five personnel involving five personnel.
Deployment is an important phase in an important phase to support India’s Myanmar, which killed the country on 28 March. The team is making a comprehensive evaluation of damaged structures and features, providing important technical inputs to guide the ongoing relief and reconstruction measures.
Operation Brahma has been a dedicated human outreach of India to Myanmar in view of the disaster. As part of this initiative, India has also assisted Indian migrants in the Yangon region.
The Embassy of India in Myanmar said that Ambassador Abhay Thakur handed over 15 tonnes of rice, cooking oil and foods to a local community relief group. India’s consulate in Mandle also contributed by providing a generator set, water purifier and cooking oil in the kitchen of the Ambika temple, which is currently serving food to 4,000 people daily.
