Amidst ongoing relief efforts, Myanmar hit with another 4.1 earthquake

Naypyitaw:

A statement by the National Center for Sisamology (NCS) said that Myanmar shocked Myanmar on Friday on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km, making it susceptible to the afterchox.

In a post on X, NCS said, “EQ of M: 4.1: 11/04/2025 08:02:14 IST, Lat: 18.34 N, Long: 95.89 AD, Depth: 10 km, Location: Myanmar.”

India continues Operation Brahma in response to the deadly earthquake in the region on 28 March and the country issued a rare petition to help.

The Indian Embassy in Myanmar said that the Indian aid team assessed 6 sites in Naypyitaw on Thursday.

In a post on X, the embassy said, “Widening Operation Brahma. After assessing 6 affected sites in Mandalay, the team of security and demolition engineers assessed 6 sites in Naipitav today. And an orthopedic surgeon from our medical team is assisting 70 patients in a Naipita Hospital.”

India is actively involved in relief efforts after the devastating earthquake in Myanmar as part of Operation Brahma, the Indian Army has provided significant relief in its field hospital in Mandle, the country’s worst city.

As of April 9, a total of 1,651 patients have been treated at the Army Field Hospital, in which 281 patients have received treatment alone that day, as according to a release by the army.

The hospital also performed seven major and 38 minor surgery. In addition, an Indian Army Engineer Team (19 ER) traveled from Mandal to the capital Naye Pai Taw, where he met with officials of the Ministry of Construction of Myanmar to assess the demolition of select buildings.

Meanwhile, another team of orthopedic experts at Field Hospital also traveled to Naye Pai Taw, where they discussed expert prosthetics for 70 patients affected by earthquake with the Ministry of Health of Myanmar.

According to the State Administration Council’s communication team, till Friday, 3,645 people have died, 5,017 were injured, and 148 Myanmar’s terrible 7.7-Nawkali earthquake took place on 28 March.
