America says that residence permits on social media posts, will deny visa

Arun Jain, 09/04/2025

Washington:

US immigration officials said on Wednesday that they would look at social media accounts and deny a visa or residence permit to those who are considered anti -Jew by the administration of President Donald Trump.

A post defined as anti-Jewish-US would include social media activity in support of terrorist groups classified by the United States, including Hamas, Hizbullah of Lebanon, Hizbullah of Lebanon and Hathi rebels of Yemen as terrorists as terrorists.

The move comes after the controversial canceled visas for students inside the United States by the Trump administration, where the first amendment of the Constitution guarantees freedom of speech.

The department spokesman Trissia McLaglin said in a statement, “Anyone who thinks that anyone can come to the US and hide from behind the first amendment to hide anti-Jews violence and terrorism.

State Secretary Marco Rubio said at the end of last month that he had taken a visa for some 300 people and was doing so on a daily basis.

Rubio said that non-American citizens do not have equal rights to Americans and it was at their discretion, not for judges, to issue or reject visas.

The most high-profile exile case is Mahmud Khalil, who led the protests at Columbia University in New York. Despite being an American permanent resident, he was taken to Louisiana before exile proceedings.
