“How Dare You”: Indian-Origin Techy calls Microsoft on Israel relations

Arun Jain, 07/04/2025

A Microsoft employee who has now left the company, excluded CEO Satya Nadella and former CEO Bill Gates and Steve Balmer on Gaza on the support of the tech veteran of Israel. Vaniya Aggarwal, an Indian-American software engineer, slammed Tech Titans during the 50th anniversary ceremony of Microsoft.

Facing the Mr. Nadella, Shri Gates and Mr. Balmer, Ms. Aggarwal said, “Fifty thousand Palestinians in Gaza have been murdered with Microsoft Technology. How do you dare. All of you are ashamed to celebrate their blood.”

Another Microsoft employee Vaniya Agrawal faced a panel on stage at the company’s 50th anniversary ceremony, including founder Bill Gates. Aggarwal continued the protest, “I am a Microsoft worker and I don’t agree …. 50,000 Palestinians have been killed pic.twitter.com/t16tyfxv3a

– SayfalQudss (@sayfalQudss) 6 April, 2025

Calling Microsoft a “digital arms manufacturer”, he accused the company of enabling violence through his technology. He urged the company to cut relations with Israel, before another woman expelled her from the hall.

Officials did not respond to the protest and resumed her panel discussion after Ms. Aggarwal was forced.

Ms. Aggarwal allegedly lambasted Microsoft for allegedly signing a $ 133 million deal with the Ministry of Defense of Israel and using her AI and azure technologies in military work against Palestinians. He called upon the company’s opposition to the company’s alleged involvement in the alleged human rights violations of the company before announcing its resignation.

In his resignation, he wrote, “I cannot be a part of a company in good conscience that participates in this violent injustice.” He said, “If you should continue working in Microsoft, I urge you to use your status, power and privilege to keep Microsoft accountable for your own values and missions.”

Prior to Ms. Aggarwal, another employee (who has now resigned), Ibtihal Abusad interrupted a presentation by the company’s AI CEO Mustafa Suleman and accused him of being a “war profitable”.

“Microsoft technologies are being used for genocide acts,” he said. Mr. Suleman replied, “Thank you for your opposition. I hear you.”

Even in the past, Microsoft employees have slammed the company for their relations with Israel, which has once again removed violence in Gaza after a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. In February, five Microsoft employees were dropped from a meeting with Mr. Nadella to oppose the contracts.
