Bangkok:
Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus on Friday presented a throbac picture of himself with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The picture shows that PM Modi presented a gold medal to honor Younus at the inauguration ceremony of the 102nd Indian Science Congress in Mumbai on 3 January 2015.
In a post on X, Yums said, “Professor Muhammad Yunus is presenting a picture to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his bilateral meeting in Bangkok on Friday. This picture is about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is presenting a gold medal to Professor Yunus at the 102nd Indian Science Congress on 3 January 2015.”
The two leaders met on the occasion of the BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok, after the fall of the government of former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina’s government, they had their first face-to-face meeting.
The Prime Minister reiterated India’s support for a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive and inclusive Bangladesh. He underlined that India trusted a focused approach of a people for the relationship, and highlighted the cooperation between the two countries for a long time, which had made the people of the two countries tangible.
PM Modi was in Bangkok for the 6th Bimstec summit.
The leaders also saw a minute’s silence for the victims of the March 28 earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand.
In a post on X, he said, “With fellow Bimstec leaders at the summit held in Bangkok, Thailand. We confirm our commitment to promote cooperation in various fields. Our efforts can make positive differences in people’s lives.”
Earlier, in the day, Prime Minister Modi met with the senior General of Myanmar, Ang Haling, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.
