Internet Thinks Fighter Director’s Cryptic Post Is A Jibe At Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force

Akshay Kumar’s Republic Day release Sky Force hit the screens today. Ahead of the film’s release, Fighter director Siddharth Anand shared a cryptic post on his X handle.

He wrote, “Hahahaha!! Insecurity hits new lows! I feel so important today! Have faith in your own self! Come on yo!! An old saying – By blowing off another candle, won’t make yours burn brighter! But alas…”

Siddharth Anand didn’t mention the context of his post though the Internet thinks he’s taking a “jibe” at Akshay Kumar’s new release.

Ever since the trailer and posters of Sky Force released, the Internet has been drawing comparisons with Hrithik Roshan’s film, released in 2024. Both films are based on Indian Air Force and aerial action.

Siddharth Anand’s X post intrigued the Internet and the comment section was flooded with several remarks.

A user wrote, “One thing common in both movies. Obsession for Pakistan and hate for Pakistanis. Would it continue? Yes!! Next year Sunny Deol will bring the force on Border.”

Another comment read, “Fighter deserved so much more, but anyways thank you for the film and for raising the standards of action in Indian Cinema.”

In another comment entry, a user wrote, “Both will be replica to each other. Sky Force will be Fighter of 2025. BO collections will confirm this.”

Hrithik-Deepika’s film Fighter released on January 25, 2024. It also starred Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjeeda Shaikh as IAF officers. The film opened to lukewarm response though it emerged as one of the highest grossers of 2024.

Sky Force features Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya as IAF officers. The film is about country’s retaliatory attack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965 which is remembered as India’s first and deadliest airstrike.
