Russia has not officially responded to reports about Ramzan Kadyrov’s health.
Ramzan Kadyrov, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin who leads Chechnya, is living with pancreatic necrosis. Moscow Times said in a report. Kadyrov was diagnosed with the disease five years ago, the outlet said, citing sources at Moscow’s Presidential Hospital, where he was reportedly treated. The Kremlin has now begun working on a succession plan to maintain stability in the region in light of its deteriorating situation. Kadyrov’s forces are fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine.
Last year, it was claimed on social media that Kadyrov was suffering from kidney problems, prompting him to appear in videos to dispel the rumours.
Citing Novaya Gazeta Europe, The Moscow Times Doctors initially diagnosed Kadyrov with acute pancreatic necrosis – a serious condition that can lead to death – in January 2019, the report said.
Pancreatic necrosis is a very common complication of acute pancreatitis, an inflammation that causes part of the organ to die. Complications can include organ failure and even death.

Newsweek also reported on Kadyrov’s health and quoted a source at the Moscow Clinical Hospital as saying that an MRS scan of the Chechen leader’s brain “left his relatives in a sad state”.
