Former US envoy ‘war has spread geographically’ after Iran attacks Israel

Amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, former US diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad said “the war has spread geographically”. He also added that depending on Israel’s response, it could expand further. “Therefore, we are facing a very serious situation that is different from the initial hopes and expectations of the international community for a ceasefire and non-spreading of the war in Gaza…” Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel in retaliation for Tehran’s attack on Syria Air strikes on the consulate building in Damascus. The attack killed 13 people, including two Iranian generals.
