‘Worst bowling ever’: Sunil Gavaskar slams Hardik Pandya after MS Dhoni’s knock | Cricket News

Indian cricket team’s legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar was hit by three consecutive sixes by MS Dhoni during their IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya was furious after the knock. Hardik was the pick of the MI bowlers with two wickets, but he was hammered for 20 by Dhoni in the last four balls of the CSK innings. Gavaskar slammed Hardik for his “ordinary bowling and ordinary captaincy” and criticized the way he bowled.

“It was probably the worst bowling I’ve seen in a long time. It looked like I almost hugged my hero. I had a bowling type of delivery where he would hit a six. Gavaskar also mentioned the interaction between Hardik and Dhoni before the match. Hardik ran towards Dhoni and hugged the former India captain, a moment that went viral on social media.

Coming to the match, Rohit Sharma’s century was in vain as Mumbai Indians lost to Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs. Rohit bowled brilliantly but the home team lost wickets regularly and Matheesha Pathirana’s impressive four-wicket haul ensured CSK’s victory.

Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube hit half-centuries while Dhoni scored against Hardik’s late Bowling, took CSK’s total to 206 runs. Thanks to this win, CSK remain in third place while Mumbai Indians are in eighth place with just 4 points from six games.
