Britain’s biggest ever welfare fraud gang has strewn a flat with hundreds of £20 notes.

The organized crime gang falsely claimed more than £50m of Universal Credit in the biggest welfare fraud in England and Wales.

Galina Nikolova, 38, Stoyan Stoyanov, 27, Tsvetka Todorova, 52, Gyunesh Ali, 33, and Patritsia Paneva, 26, used the welfare system “like a cash machine”.

Intercepted mobile phone footage showed scammers scattering hundreds of £20 notes throughout their flat.

All five defendants entered guilty pleas when they appeared at Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday (April 9).

They will be sentenced on May 28.
