Rihanna teases fans with potential new album: ‘Maybe it’s time’

Rihanna fans shouldn’t expect a ninth album to be released anytime soon, according to a new interview with the singer-turned-mogul. Interview Magazine.

The pop star, who hasn’t released an album since 2016’s “Anti,” recently spoke with Interview editor Mel Ottenberg about a variety of topics, including music and her relationship with Fenty Beauty marriage.

She remains silent on the latter, which may not be good news for ardent supporters.

“I have a lot of visual ideas,” the singer told the outlet. “It’s kind of weird. My brain is going backwards right now. I usually listen to music first and the music leads me into all these visual opportunities, and now I have all these visuals.”

“I haven’t prepared a song for them yet,” she added. “But maybe that’s the key, this time. Maybe the visual creativity leads me to the songs I need to write.”

Rihanna has refused to confirm her return to music, citing possible interference from rivals. She’s been busy with Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, and hasn’t released an album in nearly a decade.

When asked if she could have foreseen her current success, she replied: “I have no idea.”

“The only thing I knew I wanted, or that I could imagine, was motherhood,” Rihanna continued. “I didn’t know how it was going to happen, but it’s been the best part of my journey so far. Everything else has been surprising.”
