Girl, 3, rescued from Merseyside lake after escaping from nearby home

A three-year-old girl has been rescued from a Merseyside lake after escaping from a nearby home.

The child fell into the lake near Shirebrook Close in Thatto Heath at around 2.11pm today.

After 10 minutes, police rescued her and performed CPR.

Paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene and the girl was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Her family members were with her at the hospital, police said.
