King Charles shares important message as he battles cancer

Despite his battle with cancer, King Charles personally expressed his gratitude and congratulations to NATO as it celebrated its 75th anniversary.

In a letter to Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, the 75-year-old monarch praised NATO as “the antidote to years of war in Europe” and praised it as “a guarantee for our security and the values ​​we hold dear” cornerstone”.

In addition, he praised NATO’s unwavering support for Ukraine and welcomed new Scandinavian members.

King Charles also expressed his gratitude to NATO as a symbol of the enduring links between Europe and North America.

However, the anniversary comes at a challenging time for NATO, with the organization facing increasing pressure in its response to the conflict in Ukraine.

King wrote: “Seventy-five years ago, 12 nations came together in Washington to form a defensive alliance as an antidote to years of war in Europe and a symbol of the enduring ties between Europe and North America.

“The UK’s signature on the Washington Treaty marks our fundamental commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which is the cornerstone of our security and the values ​​we hold dear.”

King Charles said he was delighted that the alliance was growing with the addition of Sweden (officially joining on March 7) and Finland (NATO member on April 4, 2023).
