Report says WhatsApp is unavailable to thousands of users around the world

The messaging platform WhatsApp was down for thousands of users on Wednesday.

WhatsApp, owned by Meta Platforms, experienced outages for thousands of users on Wednesday, according to outage tracking website DownDetector.com.

More than 17,000 users have reported issues with the messaging platform, according to DownDetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from multiple sources, including bugs submitted by users on its platform.

Meanwhile, more than 30,000 users in India, more than 67,000 users in the UK and 95,000 users in Brazil reported issues with the platform.

Meta did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
