Juventus became favorites to reach the Coppa Italia final after beating Lazio 2-0 in the first leg of the semi-finals in Turin on Tuesday. Juventus came alive in the second half as strike pair Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic turned jeers into cheers with brilliant strikes in the 50th and 64th minutes at the Allianz Arena. Massimiliano Allegri’s side have fallen from Serie A title contenders to Champions League qualification battles in just a few weeks, with the duo providing a rare win for Juventus in difficult times victory.

Tuesday’s win was just Juve’s second in ten games after being beaten by Lazio in Serie A at the weekend, where they were booed at half-time by frustrated fans.

Juventus will face Lazio in the second leg in Rome on April 23. If they win on aggregate, they will face Fiorentina or Atalanta in the final in May.

Fiorentina will host Atalanta in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday night.

Lazio will face local rivals Roma on Saturday as both capital clubs try to secure European football next season.
