Business minister claims Tories have ‘dismantled low wages in this country’

Business Secretary Kevin Hollinrake claimed the Conservatives had “almost abolished” low wages in the UK.

Mr Hollinrake’s comments come as the UK’s minimum wage rises by almost 10% today (April 1).

Workers aged 21 and over will now be entitled to the National Living Wage. Rates will rise by 9.8% from £10.42 an hour to £11.44 an hour.
