Malik recently unfollowed Mirza, 37, on Instagram, a move that further fueled speculation about marital discord.

They have a five-year-old son, Izaan, who currently lives with Mirza.

Mirza mentioned personal struggles in an Instagram post.

“Marriage is hard, divorce is hard. Choose your difficulties. Being fat is hard. Staying healthy is hard, choose your difficulties. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your difficulties,” she wrote on Instagram Stories road.

“Communication is difficult. No communication is difficult. Life will never be easy. I will always be difficult. But we can choose our difficulties. Choose wisely.”

Sania, hailed as one of India’s greatest tennis players, announced her retirement from professional tennis last year after an illustrious career spanning two decades.

She won six Grand Slam titles in doubles and mixed doubles.
