Three people injured in targeted stabbing in Bury market

Three people have been injured in a targeted stabbing in the Greater Manchester town’s market area.

A manhunt is underway following the attack in Murray Road, Bury, with police still at the scene.

Police said the injuries were not expected to be life-threatening but they are appealing for information.

Greater Manchester Police said no arrests have been made so far and an investigation has been launched.

Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “We believe this incident was a targeted attack and fortunately no one suffered life-threatening injuries.

“There is no threat to the wider public and we believe this is an isolated incident.

“You may see increased patrols in your local area – do not be alarmed by this. Our officers are here to help, support and reassure the wider community.

“We are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to report it to police.

They are appealing for anyone who may have relevant footage from CCTV, mobile phones, doorbells or dash cams to contact us.
