Kelce sets NFL playoff reception record

BALTIMORE — Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce set an NFL record for career playoff receptions in a 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

An 8-yard catch from Patrick Mahomes in the first half gave Kelce his 152th postseason reception, passing wide receiver Jerry Rice , becoming the player with the most catches in NFL history.

It was Kelce’s seventh catch of the game. His 19-yard touchdown reception gave the Chiefs a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Kelce also ranks second in touchdown receptions in the postseason, behind Rice. Rice scored 22 points and Kelce scored 19 points.

Baby, shout out to Jerry Rice,” Kelce said immediately after the game. “Believe it. You have to fight for your right to party!”

Kelce enters the postseason with 1,694 receiving yards, trailing only Rice (2,245) in NFL records.

Kelce finished the game with 11 catches for 116 yards.
