'Fox & Friends' co-host shares health update in absence from show

fox and friends co-host Lawrence Jones shared a health update to explain his extended absence from the morning news show.

“Hey family! I wanted to reassure everyone that I’m doing great,” Jones, 33, wrote on social media on January 21. “I recently had eye surgery and will be returning to work soon. I will share the details of my experience with you in the future.”

He concluded: “God is truly amazing. Fox has been incredibly supportive throughout this process and made sure I had the best care. See you soon.”

Fox did not immediately return independentRequest for comment.

The broadcaster has been with Fox since 2018 and has been a staple of Fox News. morning show since he joined as permanent co-host in September 2023. At 30, he became the youngest black co-anchor on cable news.

He currently hosts the show with Brian Kilmeade Ainsley Earhart 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Eastern Time.

Jones has now been absent from the show for more than ten days, leading fans on social media to express their displeasure with the show and concerns about Jones’ whereabouts.

“What happened to Fox & Friends?” one X user wrote last week. “Your inconsistency with the absence of the regular presenters destroys the continuity I think you have designed. None of the 3 presenters were present today! Where is Lawrence Jones?”

Another lashed out: “Okay Fox News what happened to Lawrence Jones please tell the viewers who watch him every morning we haven’t seen him in over a week.”

Someone else chimed in: “Come on, where is Laurence Jones? He’s amazing and needs to be on the show!!!”

Colleagues and fans expressed their well wishes to the host online after Jones assured viewers he was fine and had recovered from surgery.

“Get well soon,” podcaster Dan Bongino wrote on X, while conservative activist Scott Presler added, “Wishing you recovery. You’ve got it.”

“Thanks for the update! I was wondering if you were on some top secret mission. Praying for a full and speedy recovery,” one fan wrote on X, while another chimed in, “Thanks for letting us know. We miss you. Get well soon.”

“Glad to know you’re okay Lawrence. Worried about you all the time. Take care,” someone else wrote.
